Ulyss blocks TikTok, Instagram and any Safari site on your iPhone. Loosening a limit only kicks in after a delay you chose, from 1 hour to 7 days.
iOS only · 7-day free trial · then $5/month
Every blocker you've tried has an off switch. And the person who flips it isn't the clear-headed you who set it up. It's the tired, bored, 1am you.
“I hit ‘ignore limit for today’ like 15 times a day.”
“I know my own passcode, so what's even the point?”
“I deleted Instagram, reinstalled it the same night. Every week.”
“I said I'd sleep at midnight. Suddenly it's 2am and I'm on TikTok.”
“8 hours of screen time and I got nothing done.”
Ulysses had his crew tie him up so he couldn't steer toward the sirens. Ulyss does the same for your phone. The decision is made by the version of you who's thinking clearly.
Choose the apps and Safari websites that eat your hours: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, whatever gets you.
Block them at night, during study blocks, or after a daily allowance. Example: Instagram 30 min a day, nothing after 11pm.
Pick a delay from 1 hour to 7 days. Any change that loosens a limit waits that long before it applies. Ulyss can't be deleted while the lock is on.
Tightening a limit works instantly. Loosening one waits out the cooldown. Usually, by then, you no longer want it.
No passcodes you know. No ‘ignore for today’. No quick uninstall. Just a delay between the urge and the off switch.
Ask to raise a limit and Ulyss queues the change behind the cooldown you picked. At 1am the urge is loud. Twenty-four hours later it has usually passed.
While the commitment lock is on, Ulyss can't be uninstalled from your iPhone. The ‘delete, reinstall, repeat’ loop stops here.
Feeling strong before exams? Add a block, shorten an allowance or extend a schedule and it applies right away. Only loosening has to wait.
Block sites in Safari too, so instagram.com and tiktok.com don't become the backup plan once the apps are blocked.
Ulyss is for you if
Your sleep goes to late-night scrolling
You plan to sleep at midnight and look up at 2am. A bedtime block you can't lift tonight changes that.
Your study sessions last five minutes
You sit down to study and the phone is back in your hand before the first page is done.
You've beaten Screen Time and Opal already
You know the passcode, you know where the toggle is, and you've used both more times than you'd admit.
Ulyss isn't for you if
Friction helps for a day or two. Ulyss is built for the moment you go looking for the off switch.
| Criteria | Ulyss | iOS Screen Time | Opal, one sec, ScreenZen |

| Price | $39/yr or $5/mo | Free | Up to ~$100/yr |
Both plans include everything. Try Ulyss free for 7 days, then choose monthly or commit for the year.
Try the lock without a long commitment.
$5/ month
One decision for the whole year. Works out to about $3.25 a month.
$39/ year
7-day free trial on both plans. Billed through the App Store.
There's no escape hatch, on purpose. Any escape hatch is the one your 1am self would use. You choose exactly which apps and sites to block, so calls, Messages, Maps and your 2FA apps keep working unless you block them yourself. If a long lock feels scary, start with a 1-hour cooldown and lengthen it once you trust it.
Not while the commitment lock is on. Ulyss stops itself from being uninstalled until you turn the lock off, and turning it off is a loosening change, so it waits for your cooldown too.
Screen Time uses a passcode you set yourself and offers ‘ignore limit’ in one tap. With Ulyss, nothing loosens until the delay you picked has passed, from 1 hour up to 7 days.
Not yet. Ulyss is iPhone only at launch. It blocks apps and websites in Safari.
Only what it needs to enforce your rules: which apps and sites you chose to limit and your schedules. It doesn't read your messages or see what you watch inside apps.
$5 a month or $39 a year, with a 7-day free trial on both. The yearly plan works out to about $3.25 a month.
About five minutes. Pick your apps and sites, set your schedules and allowances, choose a cooldown, and turn on the lock.
Set your limits today. Ulyss keeps them in place at 1am, in the library, and every time the urge hits.
