The problem in their words
Teams that already have SOC 2 are being asked for ISO 27001 next, and sometimes NIS2 mappings or insurer requirements too. They say they don't want to "build the same controls twice" or have security, compliance and internal audit "testing the same control three times." In heavily regulated industries this means many audits a year, and spreadsheets stop keeping up as the process grows.

What they use today
- Spreadsheets, shared docs and a few scripts
- Controls organized around SOC 2 only
- One GRC platform for current frameworks

SOC 2 or ISO 27001 first for a Sydney SaaS startup selling overseas?
“one US prospect wants SOC 2 before procurement moves forward. two others, one here and one in Europe, keep asking about ISO 27001.”

If you tested it
A headline for the page: “Map each control once, pass SOC 2, ISO 27001 and every audit after”
Test first: The riskiest assumption is that teams with SOC 2 will switch tools before their ISO 27001 work starts, shown by sign-ups that name the framework they need next.
- Build a page showing one control mapped to SOC 2, ISO 27001 and an insurer questionnaire, with a sign-up that asks which frameworks and how many audits a year.
- Share it in compliance, SOC 2 and SaaS communities where people ask about running SOC 2 and ISO 27001 together without doubling the work.
- Count it as a yes if a clear share of sign-ups already have SOC 2, name a second framework, and agree to a short call about their current spreadsheets.
